I am Helen Cogan, one of the co-founders and the President of Project Wheels. I am excited to introduce you to our Blog. I will tell you right up front that I am NOT a good writer. This would be so much easier if you were standing in front of me and we could have a face-to-face conversation.
The Project Wheels Foundation is my fifth child. It came about probably like most foundations do. One of my children, Patrick, at the age of 25 was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia, a rare neuromuscular disease. There is no treatment or cure and it is life shortening.
So, what’s a mother to do? Start a foundation of course.
My visions; to help those battling F.A. live a life free of obstacles. I put together a board of directors made up of Doctors, Lawyers, Business Owners, Personal Trainers, Scientists, Engineers, and Logistic Managers. They work relentlessly to live out our mission.
Someone once said to me that I have a “burning in my belly” that drives me.
It is true.
My drive and passion along with your help, will help those living with F.A., and help Project Wheels grow.
Thank you for your support!
